According to the latest figures provided by the Civil Aviation Authority, nearly a quarter of the 3,529 incidents of passenger disruption were attributed to people who arrived at the aircraft drunk.

Technology is killing off the travel magazine

I used to purchase a travel magazine when I knew I would be sat in an airport departure lounge for a while, but nowadays I use my iPhone to read content online. The other day I went to the local newsagent and browsed through a few travel magazines and I was shocked at the price.

Travel magazines are expensive

Prices ranged from £3 – £6 and I realise magazine publishers have to make money but it felt like every other page was an advertisement. I do not think that travel magazines offer good value for money when you can read content free online.

Twitter has helped build my readership over the last two years, and at the time of writing there are 10,784 crazy people following me on the social networking site. I am very pleased to see travel companies communicating with consumers on Twitter, but some could do with reading this post.

No identity behind the company

There is a travel company asking me questions and I am sat here thinking, who is this communicating with me. There’s someone sat at a computer interacting with me, that’s great, but please, add the name(s) of the people behind the company so that I feel like I am communicating with a human being.

World’s most expensive cities for travellers

Browsing my through RSS feeder today I noticed on the Telegraph site an article that highlighted the most expensive places for travellers. Apparently, Geneva is the most expensive, with, Monte Carlo, New York and Moscow not far behind.

London should be added to the list

From my travels in the last 12 months, I think London should be included in that list, and I am surprised it is not. You can easily pay £80 for a so called three star hotel, which in reality should be one star.
