Next week I am taking a trip to Venice for four nights and leaving the laptop at home. I’ve not written as many posts in the last few weeks because I have been busy working on a new project called Life in Leeds, and I launched it this week.

Impact of the recession
Since I am away on my holiday, I thought I would open up this post and I would like to know where you are going on holiday, how you have booked your holiday this year and has the recession impacted where you are travelling to.
Normal service will resume on my return.

Looks like a great site but I would expect no less.
Enjoy your trip to Venice. Can’t wait to hear about it on your return.

Hey Darren,
Have a great time! If you’re so inclined, take our walking tour of Venice:

All we do here in the US is work. I’m just hoping to get enough time off to see some California state parks before Schwarzenegger closes them. What a ridiculous situation for an obscenely wealthy to find itself in.

I’ll be joining all those other recession-hit Brits holidaying closer to home this year. After searching the net for family friendly hotels, I’ve found quite a good deal in Torquay. It’s not exactly cheap, but at least we won’t be hit by the euro or flight costs. Now I just have to pray for sun, otherwise the entertainment budget could cancel out the savings we’ve made…

I booked my holidays to Portugal and Malaysia/Bali on the internet (plane tickets & hotels). The recession did not have any impact on my decision-making but it did make the trips cheaper!

I love Venice! I’m sure you’ll have a great time, Darren, and you do well to leave the laptop at home – everyone needs a break!
