You have to have a bond, insurance or trust account to protect clients money if you wish to sell foreign holidays in the UK. So you just have to check with the company what financial security they have in place. They only need an ATOL to sell flights. ABTA is a trade association and provides bonding but there are many other companies that bond travel agents and tour operators. So the long and short of it is: You want to see an ATOL in place for flights if buying from a UK company and if you are booking just a package without flights the agent/tour operator has to have a scheme in place to protect your funds which legally has to be displayed on their terms and conditions. The company is Destinology and is an internet based company. They have a ATOL number which i have chekced and indeed they are registered. They are not registered with ABTA and it says on their web site as they are internet they do'nt need to be? 1 is that true Is my money safe? they are asking for 800.00 deposte which is not the norm for a hol in sept?
