Darren - sorry to miss you at WTM, as I won't be able to make it down there tomorrow after all (work, work, and oh, just a bit more work...and I know WTM is also work, but I've just had my boiler replaced and I have chaos to unravel, as well as a fair bit of copper tubing).

Hope you enjoy it, and the BlogCamp is a raging success - look forward to reading all about it.

@ Murray

Ahh right. Sounds like hard work but interesting. I do not think any tour operators would want me to go on an eduational tour. They would be worried about me coming back home and ranting about it!

Educationals are not "free holidays". These are taken in groups of about 10/ 15 travel agents. A tour operator will take you to a destination and you will do, say 4/5 hotels in the morning, lunch, three or four attractions and then repeat each day for a week. They are very hard work but very rewarding as you can fit about a months worth of a destination into a week and from your point of view the hotels visits would be very useful. So, not a holiday! If you are offered a place on an educational and you take it, I don't believe it would spoil your credentials at all...... If you are ofefred a holiday, say no; but ask if they are having an educational and see if you can join that.

@ Murray

Well, I have been offered a free holiday in Spain and Croatia if I blogged about my experiences. I turned them both down for a number of reasons, but primarily because I didn't want it to become a blog to review holidays paid for by companies. I've been offered computer chairs, sumo bean bags, all sorts, but rejected them.

People who I tell think I am mad.

Good luck. First task: Find excel. It's at the end of the world, somewhere called the "isle of dogs" which is a rubbish tip round the back end of London. Why the could not stick to Olympia in the civilised part of London........ I will never know. Secondly: a spare truck for the brochures. I must admit, I gave up going to the WTM. It's much more enjoyable actually visiting the places via the expediency of an educational and you learn an awful lot. Do you get offered educationals, by the way?
