Well as you have probably realised, I have been very busy in the last two weeks. For a start, I have been working long hours on the ‘day-job’ and in the background organising an event that will hopefully bring travel bloggers and companies together.

Registration for Travel BlogCamp 2008

The Travel BlogCamp will take place on the 11 November, between 7 – 11 pm during the World Travel Market in London. It will be a great opportunity for bloggers to network and for travel agencies and companies to understand more about blogs and blogging.

The event will be sponsored by ASAP Ventures, owners of Fly.co.uk and Carrentals.co.uk

Read the registration page for more information on how to book your place.

I would like to thank:

Albert of HotelJuice.com for inspiring me to organise this event.
Gareth of ASAP Ventures for sponsoring the event.
Kevin from Travolution, Tamara from Mr & Mrs Smith for putting up with all the emails asking for advice.

I am taking some time off – going camping with my 11 yr old nephew to the North Yorkshire Moors, then on to Scarborough to the seaside. If you have any questions please contact me or leave your questions in the comments below.

Darren, thanks very much for organising this event which is a great opportunity for we travel bloggers to meet each other and representatives from the travel trade.

Darren this is an excellent idea.

I will pass this on to our people and see if we can get someone from Kayak.co.uk there.

@ Karen

Thanks! Hopefully we’ll have a good mix of bloggers and travel companies. I am sure we will all learn something from each other.

@ Richard

It’ll be great if we could get someone from Kayak there!

Can I ask a silly question? What is the structure for this event – or is it just an opportunity for a beer?

@ Alex

It’s a networking event, so an opportunity to have an alcoholic or non alcoholic drink.

If there is anyone that would like to do a short presentation (for free of course! ;) ) then I am happy to discuss this. The aim really is for travel companies to learn a little more about blogs and blogging and for bloggers who communicate online to get together and chat.

Please remember I am not an event organiser ;)

@ Alex

We’ll have no fighting. I can’t afford to be hiring bouncers! :P

Hopefully, the fates will see fit to send me on a short trip to London to attend! I’m excited for you, regardless.

Bonjour Darren,

I try to be there. I am already in London 8 & 9 for business, 10 for WTM, so 1 day more could be possible and just before flying back to Marseille.

Will tell you asap

best regards

Claude

I’m looking forward to meet you all too..

Should be a great night (fingers crossed! ;) ) and now we have 4 speakers who will give a 10 minute presentation about blogs/blogging and then you can fire a few questions at them. The rest of the evening will be relaxing, informal, networking, drinking etc. etc.

I’ll have more on the speakers soon :)
