Travel ranting will resume next week

It’ll be a little quiet around here this week as I am spending the spare time I have on getting the travel rants podcast and design changes finished. As much as I’d like to spend more time on the blog, time is limited at the moment, but a full service will resume next week.

In the meantime I’d appreciate your thoughts and comments on these blog posts:

As I’m mulling taking a week off here soon too – here’s a blog post idea for you – when’s the best time for a travel blog to take off?

While people are traveling or stuck at home?

Well with forward scheduling you can take a week off anytime, as long as you have the time to write all the extra posts before you take a break, which you’ll need all the more after all that writing.

Seriously I think you can take a week off anytime, I don’t believe that readers will give up on you because of a break. find that the majority of readers of my blog come from search engines anyway and some posts from last year still get a lot of hits.

I was wondering where you went!!! You should get guestbloggers to fill in the same. I need stuff to read at work….I’d hate to actually have to do work!!

I don’t think there’s a time when you should take a rest. It depends on your targeted audiance though, and to be honest June/July is a red hot period for me because ths is when travellers are searching for travel advice.

Like Karen mentioned though, 90%of my daily traffic are people coming from the search engines searching for advice, and the remainder are you guys who come and comment.

Yep, it’s not like me to not post daily, but we all need time out from time to time. Im using the spare time well though to get tasks completed that have been sat around waiting to be done.

As for guest bloggers that is just as much work as writing my own content to be honest. The podcast jingles are what is taking the time, because I want them perfect.

The 1st show is pretty much recorded.
