I would suggest running a small promotion for a random commenter – or the best comment. Perhaps a link in the blog roll (even if it’s just for a month), or something along those lines.

Free and a nice little bit of motivation for commenting.

The format has slightly changed in that I don’t go on submissions. I use StumbleUpon, Google Reader and Twitter to find content I think readers would enjoy.

The submission and review process before was too time consuming. At the moment I am trying to stick with 1 or 2 posts a month for the carnival.

You can view all the posts on the Travel blog carnival category which is where there all archived.

Would appreciate suggestions on how to get more comments from readers on blog carnival posts though.

Great Carnival Darren,

I think a calendar or some other schedule should be published for everyone to follow along. Right now it’s hard to keep track of when to submit posts and read everyone else’s.

I enjoyed reading the budget travel post too.

It was very familar to another article I have read elsewhere though, so not sure that this is unique..
