The last travel rants blog carnival post was read by over 4,500 people, so whilst I’m walking through the beautiful Lake District, sat in a pub garden drinking a nice cold pint of cider, or up to my eyes in mud and rain, here’s another travel rants blog carnival.

It’s certainly not cheap to travel nowadays, so I enjoyed reading this blog post which highlights tips to help family travellers who want to travel around Europe on a budget. A favourite tip of mine is not to pay for tour guides but download audio guides on your iPod or MP3 player instead.
Top tips for a budget friendly European holiday
In an age where crime if rife in most destinations it’s good to read an interesting blog post about how to hide money on yourself whilst travelling. My favourite is creating a pocket inside your trousers, and hide your money and valuables in there, just remember the pocket prior going through airport security.
How to Hide Money on your Person
My next choice is an interesting post about how much it is costing us to travel by air nowadays, forget the price of the flight, and those horrible surcharges. We forget the days where it didn’t cost you a penny in-flight, now airlines charge for food, drinks, and probably going to the toilet next.
How much money you need in you wallet for your next flight
As you will be aware I am actually currently in the Lake District whilst your reading this, and I love walking, and getting away from city life. The next blog post features ten walks from the US, England and Denmark, and I can thoroughly recommend the Bronte water fall walk in Haworth.
Ten nature walks with literary flavour
Finally, an interesting blog post which features readers travel tips, ranging from tips on what to pack to planning your next trip. There’s tons and tons of blog posts being written on travel tips, so it’s good to read some more unusual tips from travellers.
Great tips for keeping travel as simple as possible
If you have written a blog post that you think deserves to be reviewed in the travel rants blog carnival then please contact me. I am using Twitter, Google Reader and StumbleUpon to find my favourite travel content, so feel free to add me as a friend or follower.

I thought so too. I enjoyed reading all of the posts this carnival. Another one to come in a few weeks time.

Hahah loved the pants, I’ve seen that before on my travels around the web. I wonder if many people have bought those pants!

I enjoyed reading the budget travel post too.
It was very familar to another article I have read elsewhere though, so not sure that this is unique..

Great Carnival Darren,
I think a calendar or some other schedule should be published for everyone to follow along. Right now it’s hard to keep track of when to submit posts and read everyone else’s.

@ Foxnomad.
The format has slightly changed in that I don’t go on submissions. I use StumbleUpon, Google Reader and Twitter to find content I think readers would enjoy.
The submission and review process before was too time consuming. At the moment I am trying to stick with 1 or 2 posts a month for the carnival.
You can view all the posts on the Travel blog carnival category which is where there all archived.
Would appreciate suggestions on how to get more comments from readers on blog carnival posts though.

I would suggest running a small promotion for a random commenter – or the best comment. Perhaps a link in the blog roll (even if it’s just for a month), or something along those lines.
Free and a nice little bit of motivation for commenting.
