Airlines might regret allowing mobile phones, blackberry’s etc on flights you know, not because of potential air rage from passengers sat next to someone yapping on the mobile phone, but passengers can now complain and rant about the airline live, publicly, whilst flying in the sky.

Travel rants from the airport runway

Today, I received a message from Neil Tracey, whilst sat on the plane, he typed his travel rant to me, he informs me that his experience with Monarch Airlines has been terrible. He goes on to say that he knows you shouldn’t use an electronic device on a plane, but, if you’re not going anywhere!

Neil adds

The flight is from Egypt to Gatwick, supposedly 5 hours. There was an initial 3 hour delay in Egypt, which Monarch admitted was their fault, although they did compensate us with a cup of tea. Then we were told that there wasn’t enough fuel to get us back to Gatwick, which is why I’m now writing this.

The rant continues

We have been stuck on a runway now for 2 hours waiting to be refuelled and still no sign of it happening. I cannot believe this is a profitable company. Take my advice, do not fly monarch, they will ruin your holiday.

Rant here

You can send me your travel rants via my contact form, on Twitter to travelrants, or how about recording your rant on video, or live stream through Qik. Please remember if you record your rant in public you must take into consideration people’s privacy.

I cannot wait until Ryanair start allowing mobile phones and PDA’s on it’s flights in July.

Let the in-flight Travel Rants commence!

Hi Darren

Just wanted to say what a fantasticly resourceful site you have here. I am flying with Ryanair in August, so I will let you know how I get on from the clouds.

@ John

Thanks for the nice comment. Yes, do let me know how you get on, it’ll be interesting to hear from consumers in-flight.

Darren how can I contact you in-flight on my mobile. It’ll take me ages to type you out an email and I do not think I have it set up for that.

Rants online, I like the idea! ;)
