A number of emails have hit the rants inbox this week surrounding confusion on the cabin baggage allowances from airport to airport and airline to airline. On the 7 January 2008 the Department for Transport relaxed the rules in some airports providing that they implemented up-to-date technology.

Confusion over new cabin baggage allowance for UK flights

Don’t ask me why the changes were introduced, when some airports were not ready.

There’s a lot of conflicting information on airport websites and within the media so my advice is to check with the airline you are travelling with or the airline’s website, which should be kept up-to-date with any changes.

I’d like to hear from anyone who has had problems with the changes
