I’m nosey and I’d like to know where you are travelling to this year, and will you do your bit for the environment? If you are flying will you off-set your carbon emissions, travel lighter, or will you just carry on as normal?

Doing your bit for the Environment

Finally…

For those that are into taking travel videos; I’ve introduced a new feature where you can submit your videos by contacting me via the blog. Each week my favourite video will be showcased, and all of the videos will be archived so readers can scroll around the map. Let me know what you think.

No problem about the linking love the blog, I think I might head to Cancun or Acapulco this year. Since I have been in the student travel industry for quite sometime those are the two places to be.

Since I recently retired, we plan on traveling around the US and try to hit at least 12 national parks out west (we live on the east coast). We bought a Toyota Prius which is a hybrid in order to do this traveling. It is a fantastic car with great gas mileage, plenty of room for all our camping and hiking gear we bring, plus it is much better for the environment.

I’ll be going to Sweden, Germany, Poland, and Turkey for sure…and perhaps a few other destinations in between.

I’ll generally try to be cognizant of how much water/heat/etc I use in hotels, try to eat local and reduce my meat consumption, and not litter.

Simple I know, but cutting out flying is impossible and I’m not convinced that carbon offsetting is of any real use.

I’m taking the wife to Sri Lanka and whilst are there, we will be helping the local community by helping to re-build a school. The rest of the time we’ll be relaxing next to the pool, on the beach and sightseeing.

Darren, we are organising it all when we get there to be honest.

Billy, Varna is a wonderful place, we went there in 2005 and booked a villa through Darren’s other business.

I do nothing about the environment, why should I? I am off to Russia, well Moscow in particular in April, for a six week course on Russian history.
