It seems the people behind the scenes at Cheapflights are keen to interact with the blogging community by using Technorati to find what we are saying about them and then asking for our opinions on user experience and suggestions for improvement.

Cheapflights interacts with the Blogging community

I’m impressed.

I’d like to see more travel companies working with the travel blogging community and I for one would be happy to assist. Let’s hope 2008 is the year when the travel industry takes bloggers seriously and get more on board.

An interesting concept - are they asking for user experience on their website, or calls, or every aspect of their experience from booking to the actual airline they fly with?

I agree - very interesting. Considering more people read blogs in general than just straight news, it sounds like a good marketing idea on their part.

I think we have a lot to offer, but I’m curious what their take is.

They are asking for user experience on their website, i.e. the search rather than every aspect through to booking. I am sure you are aware but there a number of ways to see who is ‘talking about you’ i.e. Google Alerts, Google Blog search and Technorati.

Interesting Alex. I haven’t read the post in full, but I thought anyone was allowed to edit entries of the Wikipedia - within reason.

Alot of webmasters used to add their site because of the SEO benefit but the introduction of the no-follow tag on Wiki will I am sure stopped some of the spam on there.

I remember when we launched our site we asked family, friends, and regular customers to visit our site and give us their feedback.

Sarah,

I think it’s something every small business should do when launching a new website. Designers/Developers sometimes get a little carried away and forget about the userbility of the site.

well, we’re not as big as cheapflights, but…we at Bravofly always read comment and blogs, trying to know more about not only usability but also customer service!
So Darren, and all of you, dear readers, please let us know if you like us! :)

Well Francesco,

I checked the site and it was down at 00.11am today. I’ll check the site again tomorrow and leave some feedback.

Darren
