If you’re off skiing this winter then an article written by Airport Parking & Hotels Ltd will be interesting reading. With the ski season just kicking off, APH have conducted some research into charges applied by 16 major airlines flying to ski destinations from the UK for checking in ski’s or snowboards.

Airlines charges for ski baggage

There’s a mix of results, with budget airlines, Flybe, Ryanair and British Midland charge for taking ski’s or snowboards, and most other airlines include ski/snowboard equipment within the free baggage allowance.

There won’t be such a thing as a low cost airline soon, when you add on all of the extras you have to pay.

I think its important that you weight up (pardon the pun) the extras on top of the flight that you have to pay and compare it with BA.

Might work out not much more money and you fly in more comfort.

Good advice Dean.

What might appear to be a cheap flight at first glance could turn out to be more expensive, so compare the prices in total.

It should make it easier now that the airlines have to quote prices including taxes.
