The Times Holiday Handbook is the paperback version of Google – seriously, I am not saying this because, the author Cath Urquhart was kind enough to send me a copy. I took the book on holiday with me and it features so much information, it’s my bible, and it’ll go everywhere with me – literally.

Book Review - The Times Holiday Handbook

The book has over 430 pages, and is split up into 11 chapters which are full of trip planning advice. Read up on how and what to pack, on visa and passport information or tips on travelling with children, on your own or as a female and solo traveller.

I enjoyed reading Cath’s travel experiences which span over 20 years; the holiday handbook caters for every type of traveller; backpacker, solo traveller, families, couples, and every type of holiday; package holidays, DIY, villa holidays. Etc.

I’m still finding bits of sand in between the pages, but it’ll be a book that I’ll use before I travel and whilst on holiday as it features important telephone numbers and websites, i.e. travel associations and travel consumer bodies.

Buy the Book via Travel Rants for only £10 including postage & packing!

I would say the Times Holiday Guide is the book to have if you are expecting to travel.

As a Canadian we were able to visit the U.S. just by showing our driver’s license but now we really have to have documentation like a passport. It is good to have a guide that teaches the things that will actually make your travels smooth and enjoyable.

Great post. Thanks

It sounds like a good christmas present for my neice, who has just left uni and is spending a year travelling around Europe.

Daz you’ll have to bring this when we go roadtripping in the US next year.

Debs, it’ll definatly help, for preparing for her trip and whilst she is traveller.

It’s not too heavy, so wont cause problems carrying around with her.

Shaun, did you buy it through Travel Rants?

Andy, haha I sure will be. I need to give you a call about the flights to Toronto.
