You’re sat on the plane, relaxing and looking forward to your holiday, but you can’t because the passenger sat next to you is receiving phone call after phone call from his friends and family, and you have no option but to listen to his conversations.

Say No to in-flight mobile phones

If like me this would drive you mad, then the Daily Telegraph are running an online petition after the news earlier in the year that airlines have begun testing the use of mobile phones during flights.

Sign the petition if you are against in-flight mobile phone calls.

I dont see any difference between talking on a phone and talking to neighbour, you cant shut it..it might disturb you, but I am sorry this is not your private plane)

Isn’t it forbidden to use a mobile phone on the plane? In Europe, they always ask you to switch off your mobiles.

Dina, I agree but in a train or a bus you can move around, on a plane you cannot.

Your stuck with it

Yvonne | 11 October, 2007 at 10:31 pm

Dina it might not be my private plane, but I would love to sit next to you and let you listen to my lovely mobile phone ringtone go off every five minutes and listen to me tell my family all about my holiday, or call my friends and tell them that I am sat on the plane.

Then come back and tell me you agree with this.

TMA, At the moment it is, but theres trials going on that will mean people can use a mobile phone.

Yv.

Dina, sorry but I don’t understand how can you associate talking on a crowded plane where people can’t move to talking to your neighbour?

Darren Cronian | 12 October, 2007 at 6:36 am

Dina, erm we didn’t say it was our private plane, but like Rob quite rightly mentioned, on a train you can walk to the next carriage, on a plane you are stuck sat there listening to someones phone ringtune.

Whilst on a 2 hr flight you might be able to cope with it, but on a long haul flight it would be a nightmare.

I can see air rage increasing!

Whinging Poms!

I’m assuming that when Dina said ‘neighbour’ she was in fact referring to the person sitting next to you on the flight. What happened to the old fashioned way of saying ‘erm, excuse me, would you mind keeping your voice down just a little while I try to sleep?’. You know, a little politeness…

I’m sat here reading a few posts, and you’re complaining about people not speaking English in non-English speaking countries. This is just after you complain about such countries lacking in authenticity! Would you like a ladder so that you can climb all the way down from that high horse?

I’m sorry, but the world should not be expected to cater for your needs. It does not revolve around your existence. Your entire blog is one long whinge about this fact. Get over yourself, you’re sharing this planet with 6.6 billion other people, if you want those people to cater for you, then you’re going to have to cater for them a little.

Paul, get it off your chest! ;)

Your not supposed to agree to everything a blogger writes about, but I still stick with my opinion that mobile phones should not be allowed on flights, you of course don’t have to agree, but sure discuss.

I hope you come back soon and continue to read my blog posts :D

Phones on planes? what a nightmare! do we really want to listen to d..ck heads discussing the ins and outs of nothingness whilst the rest of us are trying to relax on our way to or from holiday? even on business journeys those on the phone seem to have a need to shout due to bad? connection.
Give it a rest PLEASE!

@ Phil

I am afraid mobile phone calls on flights are near. I agree with your comments in general about phone calls on board flights, but it seems money talks.
