If you do not read the holiday booking terms and conditions then you can only blame yourself if you have to pay out more money to cancel or change your holiday.

As a U.S. citizen (and Swarovski crystal collector), I have traveled quite a bit in Europe, and have on occasion run into the rerouted transportation, delayed connecting flights, etc. I have always read the fine print as it is called, because I had been badly burnt by an airline when a death in the family caused me to book an emergency flight home. I could have paid for 3 additional vacations with the additional fare that they charged! By additional fare, I mean that they added the cost onto the ticket my wife and I had already purchased. As a result, I am amazed at the extraordinary terms and conditions that Cruise Lines place upon a vacationer. As long as the company states that there is an alternative available, (whether it is putting you up in a hotel for the duration of the cruise), they don't even have to sail to keep your entire fare. WARNING!!! Purchase insurance of every type when you book a cruise. Some friends made while taking Swarovski tours are still trying to recoup cruise fares for 9/11, when all flights were grounded and they could not reach the cruise ship.

Rohan,

I think the airlines have improved this, especially Easyjet and Ryanair.

It'll be an interesting little poll.

So far 26 votes, 77% no [which I expected] and 23% Yes.

The poll will be live for another 10 days.
