It’s now seven months since the government increased air passenger duty and we see the number of travellers increasing, the expansion of Gatwick, Heathrow and Stanstead airports, so what difference has it made to the environment, charging us more for air travel.

I doubt we will ever know if this additional revenue will be really spent on improving the environment, and whilst you occasionally hear the odd ripple of news about global warming and the increase in carbon emissions, it’s made me wonder if it’s all media hype.
Its obvious news stories that affect the voting public sells papers but I’ve not read any newspaper challenging the government on what there actually using this revenue for. All we are doing is taking money off people who can afford to fly, to pay for under achieving schools and hospitals.
Let me know your opinion on this subject.

Just to let everyone know. Passports are going up by £6 per adult in October.

It’s a good old British scam.
How come other countries haven’t raised taxes on flights?

Not sure Rob.
I just think that this money won’t be going to help the environments at all.

The government are a bunch of imbeciles.
Darren you can rant all you want, we all know where that money is going and its not to help the environment.
