I’ve mentioned before that I am a partner of the Know before You Go campaign through the Foreign, Commonwealth Office since it was launched back in 2003. The pledge you take as a partner is to educate travellers and help them plan their holiday before they go.

Know Before You Go Travel Advice

Anyway, a newsletter landed in my email inbox, which in my opinion is a little late considering the summer season is coming to a close but it featured some interesting information for travel consumers who might be departing for sunnier a climes

You may have seen the Spectrum interactive booths at the airport, where you pay £1 for 10 minutes internet access, which in my opinion is a bloody con – but I digress – according to the FCO, you can surf the FCO website free of charge from the terminals.

So, you now have no excuse not to find the latest travel information.

The newsletter also mentions a downloadable leaflet full of travel advice from Lastminute.com – apparently it’s advertised in a prominent position on its Destination finder, but I couldn’t find it so if anyone has the web address so that I can link to it, please let me know.

I really intrigued by the Know Before You Go campaign. I’ll have to look into it more and see what I can do to help out.

I used the Spectrum Interactive kiosks at Heathrow, to access the Know Before You Go site – Great that its free – and then easy to check emails too … well done the FCO, and Heathrow Airport!!
