I must admit that I haven’t really kept my eyes on this story, but I briefly mentioned last month that the Office of Fair Trading [OFT] had started to crack down on misleading holiday pricing. They took action against 13 airlines that did not include all fixed, non-optional costs, such as taxes, in prices on their websites

Cheap Flights that aren't Cheap

Whilst the 11 of the 13 airlines appear to have changed their website, Ryanair [surprise surprise] and Aer Lingus still advertise misleading prices. The OFT have therefore advised travel consumers to be wary of Ryanair because they will not see fully inclusive prices, and bear this in mind when comparing flight prices.

Thanks to Nathan Midgley, at travel weekly for the update and you can find more information:

Is it just me or is the advert on http://www.ryanair.com just completely tacky??!!

Well, I can’t complain…….I got two (yes 2) flights to Doncaster in Nov. with Ryanair for €0.04 - yes that is 4 cents. Taxes etc all included - and that is all that was deducted from my card - just got my statement:)

On the Aer Lingus front - I got my Orlando flights, again for two, in December for €845 and next April for €895 - here the extras were €40 fuel supplement and €125 taxes etc.

So for me cheap really did mean cheap!!

Nice to see you Carol.

What the OFT are saying is make sure you take into consideration when comparing prices that other airlines include the taxes but its not until you get to the book stage with Ryanair that you find the actual price.

It’s a great Bargain.

Why you heading to Doncaster Carol?

My mum and step dad live there.

Nice airport.

I have a cousin who lives in Beverly, and he says this Airport is handiest for him.

Yes, I am delighted with my bargains - Darren.
