Results from a recent survey undertaken by swiftcover.com insurance and YouGov said that out of 2,379 people questioned, 37% said that they had a theft while visiting Spain, 19% said France, and 9% said the theft occurred in the UK.

The survey doesn’t tell us a great deal other than to remind us that we must buy adequate travel insurance before we travel. Remember to check your insurance policy in detail and if you think you could be taking part in water sports to make sure the insurance covers you.
Keep your passport, travel documents and insurance policy in a safe place whilst on holiday, and take copies of all documents and leave a copy with a friend or family member in case you loose the documents.

Crappy survey in my opinion.
Especially since the majority of us have been to Spain at sometime.
Your asking for trouble if you don’t buy insurance though.

Rob is right about asking for trouble.
It only costs £10-£15 for a weeks insurance, whats that if you have a spell in hospital whilst abroad. I think it wa a few years ago that I read about the guy who went to Turkey and fell ill, had no insurance, and they ended up remortgaging the house to pay the medical bill!
