One of the things I do, to decide whether a certain series of Guides is what I'm looking for, is look at their guide of the country I live in or know well. If the guide to that place features the places that I love and leads you away from what I abhor then I'm willing to buy their Guide for a country that I don't know. It is always a gamble.... and I normally end up buying more than one guide... I think I may be a travel guide junkie! I travel regularly with my kids so would be interested to know how you find these books.
