US based low-price flight search, cFares unveiled an enhanced user interface that presents travellers with a visual dashboard that charts the tradeoffs a traveller can make between departure time and prices among similar flights.

Introducing cFares. Enhanced Flight Search

The user interface gives travellers a means to make the critical trade-off in travel decisions that until now has not been available on any travel site. Price is the number one criteria for travellers with travel times a close second, meaning that these two criteria drive most travel decisions.

Regular readers will be aware, that I am planning a trip to the US and Canada, so I thought I would give the site a trial for a flight between JFK, New York and O’Hare international airport, Chicago, and the site quickly provided results from Air Canada to United Airlines.

From first glance it looks just like any other flight search engine, but quickly I realised that I could compare flights prices, depending on the departure time, which meant a difference between $149 and $256 return.

Another big difference on cFares is that you can sign up as a free member to receive savings, or pay $50 for a platinum membership and you’ll find low prices on airfares in the industry direct from wholesalers and consolidators.

Hi Darren,

Interesting site which I will continue to follow. As I am always traveling, it is always a challenge to find the cheap flights which do exist, but need a little digging.

Thanks for the post

Michael

I thought the site looks boring and basic, but it was good to be able to choose the date and see what price the flight was on that day.

Rohan, that’s what is unique about the site that you can compare prices depending when you fly. The site isn’t just for US travellers though, you could look for European flights and it would provide the same information.

I’m just not sure if you can change the currency from Dollar to Pound or Euro.

Michael, no problem. I like sites like this that help out the traveller. You visit some of the airline websites who have the promise of cheap deals, but you spend hours upon hours trying to find the cheap flights.

We took the family to Florida last year, and it was so expensive for the flights with all the taxes. We would love to go again, but cannot afford to pay for the flights and accommodation, plus park prices.

Yes flights to the US are expensive, I’m realising that myself, as I am planning a trip to the US and Canada in 2008. It appears that I might have to slightly change my plans because I can get a cheaper flight to Toronto with Zoom airlines and then get the train or greyhound to the US cities, and flight to Chicago from NY.

Argh! Why can’t you change the currency to GBP£

I have to find the prices and then convert them into GBP from Dollar.

I agree with Rob.

It’s a great idea, but because rates are only in dollars it feels like it’s only to be used by American’s
