Today, I want to praise an airline, I know, I am shocked too, but a work colleague took a weekend break in Berlin, and didn’t want to fly from Manchester, so he flew with KLM from Leeds & Bradford to Amsterdam Schiphol airport, and then on to Berlin.

Praise for KLM Airlines

He had a great time in Germany, and returned from Berlin to Amsterdam on Sunday evening, but unfortunately, the flight was delayed, which meant he missed his return flight from Amsterdam back to Leeds.

Thankfully, when he got to Amsterdam, they knew already he had missed the flight, so they put him up in a hotel, gave him food and drink vouchers, a bag full of toiletries, and booked him on the next flight to Leeds the next morning.

I know this should be the norm when it’s the airlines fault, but you hear of so many other airlines treating their passengers badly, that I just had to mention it. Well done, KLM, sometimes it pays to pay that bit extra for your flight, if your going to get good treatment when your flight plans go wrong.

You are right Darren to give credit where it is due. It’ s all too easy to complain about things going badlly. Just wish all airlines acted like this!

We’ve flown with KLM on many occasions, and have always been happy with them.

I concur regarding the service and reliabilty of KLM. I have travelled from the US to East Africa on KLM. It has always been an extreme pleasure. Every my son brags to his friends about flying KLM

That’s good to hear Boris.

I didn’t know KLM had bragging rights though!! :)

We flew with KLM to Amsterdam a few years back and we were impressed.

Amsterdam airport is quite large and difficult to find your way around, so check out the airport’s website before going, especially if your going via Amsterdam to another destination.

Yes, Schiphol airport is quite large. Half of my family used to live in Holland, so it used to be a regular trip their to see them.

No idea how I got this post to rank so high for KLM Airlines, but it’s getting hit by Google visitors.

If you have good or bad comments about the airline then please do feel free to leave your comments here.

Wow what a great stroke of luck! Most airlines would not do that. I also use KLM alot.

My best flight was Ams to Newark, not full so I had 3 seats for myself. Comfort supremo!

This was a long flight day. I had started in Tel Aviv at 5:30AM to Zurich, Actually was up the Sat. nite getting to the airport. then Zurich to Schipol, 3 hour wait in their very comfortable ergo chairs , then 7:30pm flight. Next day at work as usual!

Have never had a problem with KLM - the best airline to fly in Europe. Period.

My wife just had (is currently having, actually) a recent experience with KLM where her bag was lost, and KLM is totally indifferent. My wife flew with KLM & Kenya Airways to Uganda last May, and her baggage was lost on the way. Kenya Airways claims they never received the luggage; KLM has just blamed Kenya Airways and then basically ignored the issue.

Lost baggage happens, but no one has shown any interest. It is a bit too easy and racist just to automatically blame the African carrier as KLM has done.
