Your right Rohan, if a travel company has acted unprofessionally, or not helped out the holidaymaker then they deserve the bad press they get, but there's probably always two sides to every story.

Lee, maybe it would be good to give the show a travel agents perspective.

Do you want the researchers contact details?

Doesn't the Travel Industry just love these sort of programmes.
And in my view such programmes can be unnecessarily damming.
Especially when Instances shown are often events that were recorded 10 years ago and are shown as repeats and are often factually incorrect.
Although I expect that a few people on board the recent Cruise Liner that sank in Greece have a few stories to tell.
It will be interesting to see how Thomas Cook fare as the Operator reports 'unbalanced' Panorama report to the media watchdog on the deaths of two children in Corfu last year.
Thomas Cook labelled the programme investigating the circumstances surrounding the deaths as " incomplete, in-accurate and unbalanced" and has complained to the BBC and Ofcom about " gross mis-representation of the facts"
I do believe that Some People do have a Holiday Nightmare, and my Sympathies definatly lie with those that of lost loved ones through Holiday Tragedies, However a lot of So Called Holiday Nightmares can be sorted out in resort to everyones satisfaction if things go wrong, However in this day and age of Suing and trying to get Compensation most people don't go and see a local rep, resort Manager, or Agent of the Company and instead complain on their return , when it's too late.

Travel Agents advice again, Most problems can be sorted out locally, Always ask for a Written Report, if you have a problem or Grievance and get the report from the local rep, manager agent, If they refuse ask to speak to the Companies Area Manager, Hotel Manager etc and insist on your problems, grievences being noted, that way if it can't be sorted locally, at least you have copies so that you can take the proper action on your return.
