A good example of poor customer care after Bryan & Sarah Asburgh and their two kids were left stranded at their hotel after My Travel failed to arrive to take them to Majorca, Palma airport.

Bryan told me last night.
It was a late night flight, and we were left stranded at the hotel with two young children, and when we called the My Travel representative, his attitude was that they were en-route to the airport and it wasn’t fair delaying all passengers for the sake of us.
We took a taxi to the airport, which cost us near €60 and I wouldn’t mind, but they charged us for the airport transfer on top of the holiday anyway. We are waiting for a response from My Travel with regard to our refund.
Surely, it wouldn’t have hurt for the My Travel representative to contact a colleague to arrange alternative transport to the airport, and someone apologise on resort for the mix-up.
I contacted My Travel today for their comments but they were not willing to comment until the case had been investigated. Leave a comment if you have had a bad experience with airport transfers on your holiday.

Our worst experience was with First Choice, but to be fair, it was out of their control as our coach had broken down, and we got to the airport just in time to depart, after rushing through check-in and security.

The only time in the last 10 years that I have used travel operators as airport transfers is last year in Kos, and to be honest, to give a balanced view, My Travel were excellent.
We were out of the airport and on the resort within 20 minutes, which is amazing really. With the shear number of passengers they carry, there’s going to be occassions where people have a bad experience.
What’s made it worse for Bryan, is not that they forget the hotel, but the attitude of the holiday rep.

When we go away we always use ResortHoppa, rather than the travel operators. The coaches are more comfortable, and you don’t have to sit on the coach as it goes around all of the resorts.

Same problem with My Travel but they left us stranded at the airport rather than the hotel. This was in July 2006, and we never got a refund of the airport transfer because the rep had ticked us off being on the coach.

Im glad I found this site.
We booked airport transfer with My Travel and was told to meet at a hotel near ours, and they would pick us up from there because it was easier to get to. We waited and waited and no coach picked us up.
Thanksfully, one of the restaurant owners who we had become very friendly with offered to take us to the airport for free. It seems My Travel have a problem with airport transfers.

Here’s an email I received today:
“Dear Darren,
I’d like to congratulate you on an excellent forum for holidaymakers and consumers to voice their opinion. In 2006, we booked a package holiday with Manos Holidays, part of the My Travel group, and booked airport transfer as part of our package.
We arrived at the airport and felt we were heared into the coach, the coach had no working air conditioning and we had to suffer a 3 hour transfer in 80 degree heat with 3 kids and my elderly parents.
We asked if we could stop off for water, but was flately denied and told we should of bought some at the airport. The fact that we couldn’t buy water because we were ushered on to the bus like animals.
We’d never travel with My Travel again, and we would never book airport transfer with the operator and make our own way to the hotel.”

I wonder if Rob works for My Travel?
Get on your Inspector Morse gear on Dazza and do some digging.

Rob,
Um I suspect because consumers have had problems with My Travel
Guido,
Because the coach didn’t arrive at the hotel to pick them up!

I booked with My Travel last summer, and our coach failed to turn up for the return transfer, leaving 20 or so people to frantically hail taxis not to miss the flight! Never again!!! And to add insult to injury, they failed to reply to my numerous emails asking for an explanation.
