I’ve just found out about a site called Flightmapping.com which helps travellers find the airlines that fly to destinations. The site is easy to use and allows you to search a departure and arrival airport, which then lists airlines that fly to that airport.

You can book the flight via the Flightmapping.com site, and it also provides some useful content on the destination. I ran a quick search for flights from Leeds & Bradford International airport to Alicante in Spain and found that Jet2 and Thomsonfly both fly to this airport so I can now search these sites and find the best flight deal.

I’ve not seen flightmapping before..it looks OK, but the UK focus is slightly annoying. I prefer http://www.flycheapo.com which shows low-cost airline routes across the whole of Europe.

Darren,
Thanks for the mention. We’ve been around for quite a while, but we’re just getting into the interactive side of things, so I’ve put a link to our new blog, if that’s ok.
I’ve been meaning to come here for a while myself, but I’m in the middle of a massive rant of my own, so I hope you don’t mind me coming back a bit later!
Cheers,
James

I think it’s a great idea to have a site where you can find all the destinations flown to from each UK airport. I only realised recently that Jet2 fly from Edinburgh to Bergamo.

Thanks James for dropping by.
Yes, I found the site via the blogroll link you placed, and no rant away that’s what this place is for.
I agree Karen, I never knew Thomsonfly flew from Leeds until quite recently, I assumed it was just Jet2.com and a few internal flights with BMI.

I found that website a bit hard to navigate, but it’s interesting. I usually use http://www.flylowcostairlines.org , it doesn’t specialize only in UK, which is nice.
