Surprise! Yep, I’m in Oslo, but the blogging continues. I’m not writing this from Oslo though, just in the comfort of my living room before my trip. So, why am I posting? Well, I thought of a few tips whilst preparing for my holiday which I thought would be useful.

Making life easier Travel Tips

Get an A4 piece of paper, and write down your flight, travel insurance, airport transfer, and accommodation details on to the paper. Keep this in your hand luggage, so that you can refer to it when you are en-route to your destination.

Also, email all documentation to your personal email address – I know it sounds silly emailing yourself, but if your in your destination and you loose the paperwork, you can login to your email account and download the information – it’s a good idea to email it all to a family member or friend as well just in case you cannot get access to the internet.

I’m probably over cautious, but I prefer to play safe when I am travelling.

Brilliant advice. I went overseas 10 times last year and do this every single time. I cannot imagine how bad it would feel to need that info and not have it on hand.

That’s great Darren, but did you also remember to embroider the details into your underpants ;-)

Damn forgot to do that! ;)

Wish I could get used to these Norweigan keyboards!

Good tips, especially since I never thought about emailing paperwork to myself incase of problems whilst away. I was thinking you could scan the original documents and save them as jpegs and email them to yourself.

Nice idea with the scanning Rohan.

My only concern would be the size of the files, especially since some internet conenctions abroad can be slow. I’d be more tempted to put the docuemnts in wordpad, or within the email as text to ensure you dont have any download issues.

Great tips! I am going to use some of these for our trip to Vienna in May.
