It seems that someone is taking the environment seriously - Slovakia’s AquaCity Resort claims green technology is making them the most environmentally resort on the planet, cutting costs and allowing customers to choose an environmental alternative without having to pay more.

The World's Most Environmentally Friendly Resort

AquaCity is built on the site of geothermal springs and uses the mineral rich water to feed 14 pools, heat two hotels, a conference centre, restaurant, bars and gym and generate electricity. AquaCity plans to be self powered and emission free by 2008.

The price isn’t too bad considering the facilities available on location with a single room starting from £65 and double rooms starting from £85 per night. Access to the Aquapool is not included in the hotel room price though.

Darren, it sounds like a nice place to go and relax.

Do you know of any low cost airlines that fly to Slovakia?

It looks a bit too posh for me.

I like to sleep rough.

SKY EUROPE have direct flights to poprad slovakia from LUTON.
the hotel(s) look posh but the atmosphere is LAID BACK. this is a wonderful palce and the aromatherpay steam rooms are amazing - as is the ice cave and the pools are wonderful.
