Last October I sent out an SOS and asked for travel agents to help me find a package holiday under £200 including flight, accommodation, and airport transfers for 7 nights. I had previously searched on various low cost airline sites, and found that the flight prices took me out of my budget.

Lee Harrison, of Select World Travel found me a holiday on the Island of Kos, Greece for only £195 including flights, apartment and airport transfers- a bargain and a perfect holiday.
How you book your holiday can depend on many factors including your budget, date of departure, number of people in the party, and destination.
Booking a holiday during the school holidays increases the price of your flight, so booking a package holiday could save you money. Booking a trip to a European city, say to Oslo in mid-week, as I have done, only cost me £185, including flights and hotel and I’ve yet to find a package holiday cheaper.
Both package and do-it-yourself holidays have their place and as a consumer you have to choose which one best suits you. Search the internet for low cost flights, hotels, and car hire/airport transfer and then contact your local travel agent and get a quote.
Compare like for like and remember that whilst one option might be cheaper, is the hotel the same quality, would you be more comfortable booking a holiday with an ABTA, TTA bonded travel agency or are you happy to take the risk and deal with any eventualities that might occur.

I think your right Darren.
Travel agents have it all to themselves for so long that many can’t cope with the competition. One of your readers mentioned that he hasn’t used travel agents since the internet started to become cheaper, and I have to agree, that I am the same.

The point I am trying to make with this post is that everyone is different. What might work for me might not work for you. There’s so many factors why booking a package holiday is better than indepently and visa versa.
