Email received today, informing me of a new webTV travel series launching in January. Apparently UK Holidaymakers have spent more than 97.3 billion pounds on getting away from it all.

So, holidays are undoubtedly a big deal for us and yet according to a survey released today by webTV travel series website holiday07.tv more than half of us have ended up being disappointed with our destination.
The site will play host to a series of 30 minute ‘on the couch’ and visually entertaining interviews which will each focus on a particular destination or travel related topic. Each programme will be scheduled in advance on the site in order to give users an opportunity to send in their own particular question which may be answered live by the panel when the show airs.
Although viewers can log onto the shows as they are broadcast live, the ability to subsequently “watch on demand” means that even the busiest people will have the opportunity to see the whole show at a time that suits them.
I have to say that this is quite exciting, and whilst it’s a television series, it does have a hint of Travel 2.0 about it because holidaymakers are able to participate in the travel shows.
The first three programmes in the series will be brought to viewers by the Tenerife Tourism Corporation, Texas Tourism and Saga Holidays for the older holidaymakers. The first programme in the series is due to air on January 18th 2007.
Drop by the Holiday07.tv site and bookmark it!
