I’ve been on some great trips this year, visiting the Lake District, Prague, Paris and the Greek Island of Kos. I’m working my way through a list of destinations that I just have to visit before I’m 40! I’ll be 34 (I know I don’t look it!) in February 2007, so only six more years to go, and over 20 destinations on my list.

Planned in for February 2007 is a trip to Oslo, Norway, but I need some inspiration from you all to help me choose two other destinations, that will fit within my measly travel bloggers salary. So readers where would you like me to visit and write about, and where have have you travelled to in 2006?

As mentioned before Darren, Turkey offers Value for money and a great experience. Kalkan is our favourite and you can view the Asfiya hotel from a video we took in October on our blog.
A Short trip to France, drive to Folkestone, through the tunnel and then in less than an hour arrive at The Auberges de Gros Tillieul at Argoules, close to Le Touquet. great for a Spring early Summer Break with Picnics in The Valley of the Canche, Shopping and restaurants at Le Touquet or Bolougne. Sto[p at Chocolat de beussant or shop at Phillipe Oliviers famous Chees emporium

Turkey is somewhere I’d like to go, but I am thinking of maybe somewhere further afield, or somewhere out of the norm. Lee, where have you travelled this year? Which destination did you enjoy the most? (and not enjoy)

Somewhere further afield, Out of the Norm, well Malvern fits the bill for our Holiday show on January 28th, Darren, hope you got my mail OK.
Well we had fun in 2006, In March Hilary and I were guests of Beachcomber in Mauritius for a Sport and pampering experience at Beachcombers excellent hotels on the Island. Just as we arrived So did Cyclone Diwa, which lasted all week.
Trying to play Golf in a Cyclone is no fun, although I’ve never hit a ball so far in my life, and unfortunatly most of our itinerary got changed.
We returned to Mauritius in August and stayed at the Shandrani Hotel for our holiday ( one of our favourites and we have many repeat clients who go to Shandrani) Where again the weather let us down and a Cycle ride through Sugar Cane fields to nearby Mahebourg was not as fun as it should have been
In October, we went to The Asfiya in Kalkan, again one of our favourite Hotels and destinations and just before we got there again freak weather with Tornadoes, Flash Flooding etc. Luckily for our week it was 90 degrees every day.
Our staff went on educationals to New Zealand ( again freak weather) Borneo
( caught the tail end of a typhoon) Iceland ( Fantastic weather) and Sri Lanka
My Personal choice and on my wish list ( first of all we are looking for a Travel consultant to replace elaine who has moved to Dorset, so that I can get out of the shop!!!) Would be to Belize and a stay at ex- footballing legend ANDY HUNTS Belize Jungle Dome
http://belizevacation.blogspot.com/
It looks like an amazing place, and Andy produces one of the best blogs I’ve seen about his clients experiences as well as e-scribbler, his football blog
Best Value for money medium - Long haul destinations have to be Egypt and Sharm el Sheikh or Srilanka, Goa, Thailand.
Hot New Destinations are Brazil, Cape Verde Islands and Oman
I Don’t think I’ve ever been to a destination I haven’t enjoyed, as the World is so diverse and still lots to discover. Perhaps the only place I could say was when we were on holiday in Tobago, a few years back. Beautiful Island, but a visit to the Capital Scarborough, we left after arriving after just 5 minutes, as it felt extremely threatening.

Have you thought about Hong Kong, with Oasis offering cheap flights (you need to book long way in advance). This city is unlike any other and if you’re careful is cheap to eat out in. Try the Market food stalls for real Chinese, (the snake soap’s great and really does taste like chicken). Hotel prices for something like the Ibis starts from about 38 pounds per room per night. Also the best sight is free, the view from Victoria peek.
Also cheap flights and breaks to Canada along with strong pound mean spring trips to Toronto are great value. End Feb Flight plus hotel for a week is 242 total for 1 person on a singles deal.

Hi Nicholas,
Yes, I did think about Oasis, and its cheap. I was struggling to find a hotel, under £50 per night, that didn’t include a ton of single person supplement. I’ll check the Ibis out though so thanks for the suggestion!
Canada is another high on my list - I’ve heard about Zoom Airlines, but I think that’ll have to wait til 2008!
Thanks for the info

Mauritius is a wonderful place to be with your loved ones and according to me everyone should visit Mauritius at least once in their life time. It was so easy to plan a trip for Mauritius through Dialaflight. Dialaflight is a great place to book your Mauritius Flights
I got amazing deals on travel tickets as well as the value for money.
