Readers, expect to pay more for your flights, with the news that our wonderful UK government (please feel the sarcasm) will increase air passenger duty by 7% from February 2007.

According to Guardian Unlimited, £10 per economy class passenger, for short haul flights, and £40 for long haul flights will be passed directly onto ticket prices by airlines.
Another kick in the nuts for us travellers.

Not just the travellers Darren. Just think how The Travel Industry as a whole will be affected, and how will these new taxes be shown.
Yes madam that’s Right the Flight Price is £84.00 but your Taxes are £260.00
That’s £40.00 a.p.d, £40.00 fuel surcharge. £40.00 Country you are visiting Tax
£40.00 for turning up at the airport Tax £40.00 for checking you in tax £ 40.00 because Gordon thinks you should be paying his Schools and Hospitals Tax
Obviously the above figures are in jest, but in reality The Flight Price you are Quoted and the Tax Figures are now just incredible.
By the way don’t forget that Once you’ve booked your flight and paid your extra tax, don’t die on your flight, because Gordon will also have your Death Duty Tax and Inheritance Tax.

Lee,
I had to edit this blog post.
I hope you didn’t see the original.
This country is getting worse, I too want to emigrate, so make sure you find an office that I can share in whichever country you emigrate to!

Yep, I saw it Darren, and I have to agree. I’m pretty pisssed off with this government too.

Typical, that’s all I have to say really.

This new TAX is just typical of this under performing government. If you earn it we’ll tax it seems to be their motto. By the time I retire in 20 years I’ll be paying more tax than I actually earn,
Best idea is to stop writing off 3rd World debt, let their leaders sort their troubles out., we’ve enough of our own…we are but a small island. In fact lets tax all the new imigrants to this country…might disuade a few from coming.
Better still why don’t our underworked and overpaid ministers take a pay cut. Let them see what its like on a public sector wage especiall nurses, firefighters and police. They’d have a re-think then.
When Blairs next freebie flight I wonder?

The labour party strikes again. Don’t you brits get it, they’re called that, because you have to labour, to provide the perquisites the party hypocrites enjoy. We got out of the UK 41 years ago and although we are almost forced to return to see elderly relatives occasionally, we normally avoid Britain like the plague, preferring to spend our European vacations, in countries where we can at least get some value for our money. The UK has been taxing itself out of the tourist market for years. Tony B.wants you all to spend your holidays at Blackpool and other penny pinching seaside resorts.
