It’s the first time that I have flown with My Travel and I have read some good and bad comments on various travel sites, but I only have great things to say about them. As you will probably know if you’re a regular reader, I went on holiday to Kos, and flew from Manchester Airport.

Reasons why I love My Travel

Check-in was swift, and very well organised – I’d say that they were about 20 people in the queue when I got there, and it didn’t take more than 10 minutes to get through the queue, passport checked, baggage handled, and the usual security questions asked.

With everyone on the plane and take-off exactly on time – on board the food was very nice, and entertainment was great, with 1 film for everyone and 1 film for kids to keep them occupied. The kids were even given a Beano comic.

I’m not exaggerating when I say that from landing, to arriving at the hotel, cannot have taken any longer than 30 minutes including the bag collection and passport control. A lot of that was because Kos airport was very well organised.

I was very impressed with My Travel, their professionalism, friendliness and how well organised they were from the airport check-in to transferring you to your holiday accommodation – so well done My Travel and thanks for making my holiday hassle free.

Darren. I wonder how much of your experience of My Travel can be put down to the fact that it is the end of the Season in the resorts???

I am glad you had a positive experience, but having flown with My Travel at the “height” of the season - on more than one occasion, mine was very different…….delayed flights, with no information/food, one whole night spent at an airport, jammed flights where seats were literally on top of one another, not enough food for everyone on the flight……..I could go on!!!

I went to Mexico with My Travel, and they were okay, definitely, not as good as service as Darren has reported.

Well, Just Literally got back in tonight from our Holiday stroke Work trip to Kalkan in Turkey, and just like Darren flew Mytravel back from dalaman. I must admit at being a bit worried about darren’s trip as We had organised it for him, but knowing Mastichari so Well, we knew he would be well looked after. What you can’t account for is the Weather, and three days before we flew to Kalkan, Tornados were ripping into the Turkish Coast lines, Floods, thunderstorms were tearing into Kalkan, and yet when we arrived on the 23rd of October, Glorious sunshine and temperatures hotter than August. We had wall to wall sunshine until leaving this morning at 10.45 local time, when another Thunder storm broke out.
We arrived at Dalamans new airport, due to take off at 14.45, but being the last flight of the season, the inbound flight came in on an empty leg, and having just spent £35.00 on Mc Donalds in the departure lounge, They called our flight as leaving 45 minutes early!!!!!!

More to follow shortly.

Glad you enjoyed everything Darren, You Must visit Kalkan Next, Although a holiday for us, we mixed business with pleasure and have secured some contracts and some great Hotels of Charachter.

Lee, I’ve seen pictures of Kalkan (some of my clients have villas on the mountainside) and it looks superb. I’m sure to visit Turkey, but high on my list next year is either the US & Canada or New Zealand.

I think Carol is right that the reason why everything appeared so organised is because it was the last flights of the season, everything was on time, and they had asked for people to be at the airport 3 hours before departure, so no late arrivals.

I know someone who is flying with them to Mexico this week, so we’ll see if they are as reliable as the experiences me and Lee had witnessed.

No problems for me with My Travel neither.

my travel seem to thrive on providing a cattle class service for which there does indeed to be plenty of takers, how long this will last is debatable when one considers their dubious marketing techniques, for example when does a “direct flight” from Manchester to Las Vegas stop in Glasgow? answer when when it is direct but with a set down. Not a very convincing answer but the one i have just had along with over 3 additional hours to my journey. The cabin crew are quite happy to serve obviously drunk and rowdy passengers with further alcohol as long as there is a profit in it and as regards customer service and training it would appear that the training starts and ends with saying “oops sorry” be that for spilling tea on you or bumping into you on a regular basis. Thoughtfulness, care and pride in a job well done must be part of an advanced training course reserved for the elite, but then does cattle class deserve more than sorry?

I love My Travel, they have the best planes and pilots. They have the best cabin crew - specially Tracey who looked after me from Sharm el-Sheikh to Manchester a few times when I was sad to leave my Egyptian stepdad behind, she gave me calpol when I was sick and let me see the pilot. I love Tracey and My Travel, from Sam Littlewood age 8
