It’s been a busy week for this travel blogger – featured in the Travel Weekly magazine, interviewed by two freelance writers for Travel Weekly and The Daily Mail because for some reason the two words on everyone’s lips at the moment are travel blogs.

Anyway, whilst reading through my RSS feeds tonight, I noticed a story in the Guardian, about air travel surcharges, and that Flybe have announced that within two years it expects to start charging a fee of £1.50 to use airport check-in desks.
Umm am I the only person that is outraged at the thought of having to pay to check-in? What’s next, charging us to use the bus to take us from the terminal to the aircraft? It seems to me that, low cost carriers are looking for any reason to add on a surcharge.
If the airlines are going to use secure technology and reliable check-in machines, without the queues I witnessed at the BMI check-in machines Leeds & Bradford airport only too recently, then that is fair enough – but you know that’s not going to happen.
“So far, no airline has touted the idea of charging passengers to use the toilet or overhead lockers, but at this rate, it may be only a matter of time.”
What do you think about the ridiculous surcharges inflicted upon travellers by the likes of Flybe, Ryanair and EasyJet?
