Well, what a day – I found out that the Travel Rants blog has been mentioned on the Travel Weekly site (yay!) and early this morning I received an email asking me if I wanted to sell my beloved travel blog – like that’s going to happen!

Leeds is swamped with students, all of the pubs are busy, there’s no money left in the bank machines, and the supermarkets have run out of spaghetti hoops and baked beans.
So, if your thinking about getting involved in Student travel, believe me Leeds would be your perfect base! Get in quick before they spend all of their student loans and overdrafts.

Ooh I couldn’t agree more – have you tried driving through Headingley recently?!?!?
I spent 45 minutes queuing from Kirkstall to Headingley the other night – surely so many students didn’t have cars 10 years ago (was it really that long since I went to university? – oh yes, it was…)
rant!

Sarah, Leeds has gone crazy!! I couldn’t imagine living in Headingley at this time of the year! Nice pubs around there though!

Nice pubs – just seem to have a bit of trouble actually getting served at the moment – wading through the four-people deep wall of students!
Oh I’m just jealous because they’re so young and carefree – don’t really get the whole fancy dress any day of the week thing though!
Have a good walk this weekend – I’m supposed to be off for a bike ride weather allowing (and I’m not stalking you – just happened to see it on your post!)

I don’t mind being stalked – actually the thought of it brightens up my day haha
When you start complaining about students you quickly realise your “getting on” but i am sure the number of students in Leeds this year has doubled – I had heard that Leeds Uni received extra grants, and didn’t put up their fee’s so alot of students have come to Leeds (25,000 to the uni alone I understand?!)

Aha – it all makes sense now!
Although working at a Leeds-based travel company with a core customer base of students, I really shouldn’t grumble.
Like I say, I’m just jealous!

I must say that as a Leeds student, the start of this academic year has been particularly busy. Roads have been full, even the pavements around Hyde Park have been bustling in the mornings, to the extent in fact that it takes longer to actually get anywhere than it ever did before, even on foot.
While I can’t complain (more studnets means more societies and more societies means more web work and hosting) getting served at the pub is becoming more difficult than flying your own rocket to the moon.
