Ireland is hosting Golf’s major tournament, the Ryder Cup on 22 – 24 September 2006. The venue the K club in County Kildare will be host to the World’s best golf players, set in 330 acres of parkland, the K Club’s Irish Golf Courses incorporate the beautiful River Liffey. Golf courses range from a 7,337 yard, par 72 championship course to a 5,459 yard, par 73 Ladies course.

Irish village to host the 2006 Ryder Cup.

The Ryder Cup is the biggest corporate event of any kind to be held in the British Isles and the biggest event of any kind across the Irish Sea. Located about half an hour from Dublin Airport, K Club, is the ideal venue.

The K Club is located in the Kildare village of Straffan, close to Celbridge and Maynooth, and with an abundance of golf courses in the surrounding area, you could practice your swing before or after the event.

Accommodation and flights are going to be thin on the ground, at this late stage – but it’s worth contacting Ireland’s Tourist Information Board, Cheapflights, Aerlingus, Ryanair and BMI or Aer Arann - you could always drive, catch the ferry and take a tent and camp for the 3 days!
