One of my friends came back from their holiday in Croatia on Wednesday, and this morning a postcard arrived on my doorstep, which made me think, why did do people still send postcards, when the majority of the time, you arrive back before the postcard.

Are Postcards Old fashioned?

Most cities and holiday resorts have Internet cafes, and it can be cheaper to email family and friends your holiday photographs back home, but it’s also quicker, more environmentally friendly, and feels much more personal – can you imagine how many postal workers have read your postcard!

So why do we still spend millions of pounds every year on sending postcards? For a reason not known to myself, it is one of them traditions that hasn’t being bulldozed with the introduction of the Internet and new technologies.

I used to love receiving postcards – as a kid, I used to collect them, but I would prefer to receive a good quality photograph to look at because that means so much more than a small postcard.
