Well it’s been a few days since I posted on the blog – I’ve been a little lazy, and went away for the bank holiday weekend. Anyway, I’ve just been reading my favourite news websites, as I do from time to time, and I came across a story that apparently Indians are flocking to Mediterranean Countries rather than the traditional hotspots of South East Asia.

Indians love the Mediterranean

That’s good news for the likes of Spain who have seen a decreasing number of visitors from mainland Europe due to cheaper deals in Croatia, Bulgaria and other Eastern European destinations.

Leaving behind the sultry beaches of Southeast Asia, Indian travellers are now showing interest in the Mediterranean due to its climate and culinary delights it offers, say travel agents and tour operators catering to outbound traffic from India.

Countries like Greece, Spain and Turkey are attracting a large number of tourists this season. “The summer is just round the corner and we can see lots of enthusiasm among tourists for these destinations,” said Riaz Munshi, a holiday planner.
