As much as I love Britain and I shout it’s praises regularly in this blog, you have to know that our rail system stinks - seriously, the trains are never on time, and during rush hour it’s like travelling through India with people sat on top and hanging on the side of the train. Okay, it’s not quite as bad as that, but you get the picture.

Anyway, today I found out about a new rail booking website for agents who are helping travellers organise their holiday in Britain, from abroad, and basically enables them to book and reserve a seat on any of our train networks.

To be honest it looks like a complete amateur has created the website, with the dodgy looking graphic at the top of the website - but then who am I to comment, since Im not a web designer myself.

BritRail is the trademarked name of the Association of Train Operating Companies (ATOC) of Britain. BritRail was created as an initiative by the 26 railway companies of ATOC in order to entice International travellers to visit Britain and explore its countryside by train.

I am also not a political speaker, and politics doesn’t interest me in the slightest, but the rail system in the UK went downhill when they made it privatised - and with so many gaffs and bad publicity due to “too many leafs on the track” and “it’s the wrong type of snow” it has made our rail system a joke.

Even so, it’s safe, which is what matters I suppose.
