Well, today I took my 10 year old nephew for his first walking experience on the moors and around Ilkley and Ben Rhydding. Thankfully, we still have a place to go and get away from the city, and it’s a good 4/5 hour walk.

The scenary is spectacular, and most important of all the weather was great - glorious sunshine pretty much all the way through the walk. We spent a good hour paddling around in the spring water coming down the waterfall, and through the hills, which was so refreshing after a long walk. What I love about walking is that you can just get away from it all - take in the fresh air and get some exercise.
I took a few photographs, and would love to learn more about photography so I can take better photographs during my travels. Maybe one day I’ll get organised and go and do a college course.

No Darren England takes some beating, it has a great and varied countryside in a short distance you could be seeing 3 or 4 types of different habitat.

Jamie, I think it depends where you live. In Leeds all we have seen for the last 5 years is green land built on to cope with the increasing population. We used to have some great canal walks, but alot of these walks are now overlooked by apartments and hotels.
I’m sure that’s not the case in other parts of the country (Devon and Cornwall for example) but here you really need to get to places like Ilkley to get away from city life which can be too much sometimes.

Hi Darren
Nothing wrong with those photographs! What camera are you using?
Paul

I’m using a Sony Cybershot - one of their early releases though. It takes good shots, but I want to learn more about photography. I went to Prague at the end of March and loved taking photographs of the scenary and buildings.
What camera would you recommend Paul for someone wanting to learn photography?
