I love Spring – it’s my favourite time of the year, as the sun starts to appear, the daffodils are in full bloom and it’s great weather for the outdoors. Anyway, I’ve received a few emails asking whereabouts I am from.

A guide to my home city Leeds, England

Well, I live in the UK’s most exciting city – Leeds. It’s overtaken the likes of Manchester, Liverpool and Newcastle and has become one of the UK’s favourites cities for culture, shopping and nightlife.

The Millennium Square has really put Leeds on another level – providing a location, for music concerts, big screen TV events like the upcoming Fifa World Cup, Christmas markets, and a peaceful place to get away from the hustle and bustle of city life.

If your into music well Leeds has some pretty damn awesome music events, with the likes of Robbie Williams playing at Roundhay Park, The Kaiser Chiefs playing at the Millennium Square, and probably one of the Uk’s biggest music festivals, Leeds Carling Festival

Shopping in Leeds has brought keen shoppers from all over the UK, and the evidence of this is the large number of coaches coming into the city centre on a weekend. One of my favourite shopping centres is the Leeds Victoria quarter – which has designer shops, cafes, and is home to Harvey Nichols the famous department stored used by the Royal family and other famous people.

Leeds is also home to the Royal Armouries Museum, which house the national collection of arms and armour. Initially based in the London Tower, all of the national collection was moved up to Leeds in 1996.

If you want a weekend of entertainment, shopping and nightlife Leeds is the city to visit – and recommended are visits to:

Entertainment

The Light Leeds
Leeds Royal Armouries Museum
Millennium Square
The Home of Leeds United Football Club
The Home of Leeds Rhinos and Tykes Rugby Clubs
Roundhay Park

Nightlife & Restaurants

The Walkabout Inn Bar
Browns Bar
Bibi’s Italian Restaurant

Hotels

Hilton International
The Queens
Leeds Marriott
Crowne Plaza
Malmaison Leeds

They are a large number of hotels in the city and on the outskirts, and it’s very easy to travel to with Leeds & Bradford international airport, Leeds city railway station and Leeds coach and bus station.
