During the last week I’ve gone through a number of emotions from sadness to anger and outrage. What happened last Thursday in London will live in our minds forever. Whilst we were sad and angry about what happened in New York, Istanbul, Bali and Madrid, it doesn’t really hit home until it happens in your country, on your own doorstep.

These poor people were every day people like me and you going to work and going about our daily routine without a care in the world. What makes it more difficult for me to understand is that these individuals were people from my own city, people I could of come into contact with. Right now I’m ashamed to say I am born and bred in Leeds.

When will innocent people stop dieing because of religion, why can’t people come together, be them Muslim, Sikh, Jewish or Catholic. Today, I attended a memorial, with two minutes of silence, everyone held hands, no matter of their religion, we are all equal.

For those brave people that died on the 7th July 2005…

… RIP we’ll never forget you
